Chagrians are an amphibious, horned species native to the tropical water world of Champala. Their coastal cities are built along powerful tidal zones and are designed to be regularly flooded, allowing Chagrians to move seamlessly between land and sea. At home in both environments, they swim with ease, breathe underwater, and thrive in humid, oceanic climates. Generations of exposure to their system's unstable star have also granted them a natural resistance to radiation and environmental heat. Culturally, Chagrians live in a peaceful, highly structured society with a strong emphasis on law, justice, and social responsibility. Their government ensures a high standard of living for nearly all citizens, and poverty or systemic neglect are rare on Champala. With little need to fight for basic survival, Chagrians tend to be cooperative, civic-minded, and unselfish. They have a famously weak sense of taste and often view eating as a practical necessity rather than a pleasure, relying on nutrient capsules while treating shared meals mainly as opportunities to socialize with offworlders. Off their homeworld, Chagrians are known as steady, principled individuals who respect hierarchy and procedure. They excel in roles where order, duty, and fairness matter—such as diplomats, military officers, judges, or administrators. Even less scrupulous Chagrians usually retain a fondness for rules and structure, making them reliable allies and sometimes very frustrating adversaries for those who prefer improvisation and chaos.
Home Planet: Champala
Physical Description: Chagrians are tall, powerfully built amphibious humanoids with thick skin that ranges from pale blue to deep indigo. Their most distinctive features are their cranial horns, or lethorns: fleshy head-tentacles that hang down past the shoulders and end in bony horn structures. Male Chagrians also grow an additional pair of upward-curving horns from the crown of the head. Their eyes are adapted to dim subaquatic light, and their muscular frames are well-suited to swimming and heavy labor. Constant exposure to Champala's seas and sun has rendered their skin naturally resistant to radiation and environmental heat.

Personality & Customs: Chagrians are serene, polite, and deeply community-minded. Their society emphasizes order, fairness, and collective responsibility, shaping them into patient and dependable individuals who prefer cooperation over confrontation. Because they lack a true sense of taste and find eating physically unenjoyable, they rarely indulge in food-related pleasures; instead they treat meals as social obligations or efficiency tasks, relying on nutrient capsules whenever possible. Chagrians respect authority structures and adhere closely to laws and regulations, both at home and abroad. Though they are not naturally aggressive, they are unwaveringly loyal to those they serve or befriend, and their even-tempered nature makes them approachable diplomats, administrators, and Jedi. Their calm demeanor can sometimes be mistaken for passivity, but beneath their composure lies firm moral conviction shaped by a culture that prizes justice, balance, and the welfare of the whole community.
