SWURPG CHARACTER BUILDER
· Level 1About the SWURPG Character Builder
The SWURPG Character Builder is a free, browser-based character creator for the Star Wars Universe Roleplaying Game — a fan-made tabletop RPG that blends Saga Edition depth with the ease of D&D 5E. Pick a species and class, set your abilities and skills, and choose your gear and Force powers; the builder auto-computes your hit points, Armor Class, attack bonuses, skill modifiers, and proficiency bonus as you go. When the sheet is ready, export a printable PDF or cloud-save the build to pick it up on any device.
Build at your own pace. A guided Quick Build rolls up a complete level-1 hero from just a species and class in under a minute, while the full step-by-step builder gives you control over every choice from level 1 to 20. Draw on 105 playable species, six core classes with fifteen advanced subclasses, 235 weapons, and full armor, gear, and Force-power catalogs — with no account or download required (signing in just adds cloud saves across devices).

Frequently asked questions
▸What order should I fill out the tabs?
Start with Species, then work down the list: Basic Info, Abilities, Class & Level, Skills, then Gear and the upgrade tabs, and finish on Summary. You don't have to follow that order, though — the builder recomputes everything live, so you can jump between tabs freely and come back to anything.
▸What's the panel on the right side?
That's your live character sheet. It updates the moment you make a choice — hit points, Armor Class, attack bonuses, skill modifiers, and carrying capacity all recalculate as you go, so you can see the effect of every pick immediately.
▸Do I need an account to use the builder?
No. Without signing in, your work auto-saves as a draft in this browser, so a refresh won't lose it. Signing in adds cloud Save / Save As / Load — you can keep multiple characters and pick them up on any device.
▸How do I save my character?
Use the Save, Save As, and Load buttons in the builder header — those need a signed-in account. Even signed out, the builder keeps a working draft of your character in this browser automatically.
▸How do I get a printable character sheet?
Open the Summary tab and use Download PDF. It produces a clean, printable sheet with everything the builder computed — stats, skills, gear, and Force powers.
▸Can I print a blank sheet to fill in by hand?
Yes — use the "Blank Sheet" button in the builder header, or download directly from the Resources page. The blank sheet is a paper template for tables that prefer pen-and-paper, GMs prepping NPCs at the kitchen table, or introducing a friend to SWURPG without a laptop. A matching Blank Starship Sheet is available from the Starship Builder header.
▸Why don't I see a Force Powers tab?
The Force Powers tab only appears once you choose a Force-using class — Jedi or Force Adept, or one of their advanced forms. Pick one on the Class & Level tab and the tab shows up.
▸Why don't I see an ASI tab?
The Ability Score Improvement (ASI) tab — labeled "ASI or Trait" — appears once your character reaches level 4. Set your level on the Class & Level tab; ASIs come at levels 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20.
▸Can I build a droid?
Yes — pick any droid species on the Species tab. Droid characters use a Plating score instead of Constitution, can't be healed by medpacs, and get a Chassis Upgrades tab in place of Armor Upgrades.
▸Can I multiclass in the builder?
Not yet. The builder is single-class only — pick one base class and (at level 3+) one subclass. The full multiclassing rule is documented on the rules page, and you can still build a multiclass character at the table on the printable blank sheet. If you'd actually use multiclass support in the builder, hop into the Discord and say so — community demand is what drives the roadmap. Read the multiclassing rule →
▸The builder did the math for me — can I trust it?
Yes. Hit points, Armor Class, attack and skill modifiers, proficiency bonus, and carrying capacity are all derived automatically from your species, class, abilities, and gear. If a number looks surprising, check the choice that feeds it — the builder is just applying the rules.
▸I'm new to tabletop RPGs — where should I start?
Read the Rules guide first — it covers dice, ability checks, and the basics the builder assumes you already know. Then come back here; every tab also has a short intro banner explaining what it does. Open the Rules guide →
