By using swurpg.com, you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose — SWURPG is a free fan project, not a commercial product, and we want it to stay accessible.

1. The site is free, as-is

SWURPG is provided without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee the site will always be online, that saved characters will be available forever, or that the rules won't change. We'll do our best on all three counts, but we can't promise.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the site at any time without notice. If we ever shut down, we'll publish a final character export so you can keep your data.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or characters.
Use the AI features (backstory, names) to generate harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit content involving real people.
Scrape or republish the site's content for commercial use.
Submit content you don't have the right to share — including copyrighted text, art, or audio you didn't create or license.
Abuse the AI / save endpoints with automated load that degrades service for other players.

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules. Severe or repeated violations may result in IP-level blocks.

3. Your characters and homebrew content

You own the characters and homebrew material you create through the builder.

By making a character public (toggling the share setting), you grant SWURPG a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, host, and link to that character on the site. You can revoke this at any time by toggling the character back to private or deleting it.

By submitting homebrew content (rules, stat blocks, adventures) for community publication, you affirm that the work is yours, grant SWURPG a non-exclusive license to host and edit it for clarity, and accept that other players may freely use it at their own tables.

4. Star Wars trademarks

SWURPG is a fan project. Star Wars and all related trademarks belong to Lucasfilm Ltd. and The Walt Disney Company. See the Fan-Made Disclaimer for the full statement. You agree not to use the SWURPG name, logo, or content in any way that implies official Lucasfilm or Disney endorsement.

5. AI-generated content

The backstory and name generators produce text via Anthropic's Claude API. AI output is not pre-reviewed and may occasionally produce inaccurate, anachronistic, or non-canonical content. Treat anything the AI produces as a draft to refine, not as authoritative lore. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before using it in your game or sharing it publicly.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SWURPG and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site — including loss of saved characters, missed game sessions, or any in-fiction grievances with the Empire.

7. Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll bump the "Last updated" date and post a notice on the home page or in our community Discord. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
