Backstory

Vuric Jad was given to the Jedi Order as an infant, born on Utrost to parents he never knew and raised within Temple walls from the first weeks of his life. Where some younglings struggled against the discipline of Temple life, Vuric settled into it like a second skin — quiet, watchful, content to let the Force move at its own pace rather than his. His instructors noted early that he listened more than he spoke, and that when he did speak, it was usually to settle an argument rather than start one. He was never the most gifted duelist in his clan, nor the strongest in raw Force sensitivity. What set him apart was an unusual gift for reading people — the half-second hesitation before a lie, the tension behind a diplomat's smile, the truth a witness didn't know they were hiding. His masters steered him naturally toward the Sentinel path: not a Guardian's blade, not a Consular's open hand, but the quieter work of the Order — slipping into places the Republic couldn't officially go, untangling corruption before it could harden into war, and returning with answers rather than headlines. Vuric's faith is genuine and, by his own admission, sometimes too generous. He believes the Force guides the willing, and that most beings — even hard ones, even dangerous ones — want peace if someone will only build them a path to it. It has made him an effective negotiator and an unusually trusted presence among people who instinctively distrust Jedi. It has also, more than once, led him to extend good faith to someone who hadn't earned it. He has learned to compensate — verify, investigate, watch twice before acting once — but the impulse to believe the best of a fellow believer is still the crack in his armor, and he knows it. He carries himself like a man with nowhere to rush to: tidy robes, deliberate movements, a stillness that unsettles people more than aggression would. He doesn't draw his lightsaber to make a point. When he does draw it, it's already too late for the other side to argue.

Roleplaying notes

- Soft-spoken and economical; lets silences sit instead of filling them. - Always argues for the door that doesn't require a lightsaber. - Asks the follow-up question nobody else thought to ask. - Trusts too easily when someone invokes faith or the Force — his reliable blind spot. - Notices small kindnesses and remembers who showed them. - Strikes once, hard, from an unwatched angle, then disengages — not built to slug it out. - Offers his read on a plan once; won't insist if overruled. - Draws his lightsaber only when talking has already failed.
