Aqualish are a rugged, tusked Star Wars species native to the frigid oceans and coastal regions of Ando. Known throughout Star Wars canon and Legends for their aggressive demeanor and powerful builds, Aqualish are often portrayed as mercenaries, enforcers, bounty hunters, and pirates. Yet their homeworld’s harsh environment—defined by freezing waters, violent storms, and territorial hunting grounds—has shaped a society far deeper and more structured than their fearsome reputation suggests. Physical Description: Aqualish are stocky, broad-shouldered humanoids recognizable by their large black eyes, thick leathery skin, and prominent tusked lower jaws. Their physiology varies by subspecies: Aquala possess webbed three-fingered hands adapted for swimming; Ualaq are covered in dense fur and have four-fingered hands; and Quara combine traits of both with tough, leathery skin. Despite differences, all subspecies share impressive upper-body strength and excellent endurance.

Standing between 1.7 and 2 meters tall, Aqualish have powerful limbs built for underwater hunting and close-quarters combat. Their heavy gait belies their ability to explode into sudden bursts of speed when provoked. Their tusks serve both practical and cultural purposes, functioning as weapons and status markers in clan hierarchy.
