Traits

Unyielding Metabolism

Feeorin physiology does not wear down the way most species' does; it absorbs punishment and keeps working long past the point where the body should have quit. Once per Long Rest, when you fail a Strength or Constitution saving throw, you may reroll it and must use the new result.

Nocturnal Eyes

Feeorin eyes gather light far better than a Human's, and darkness slows them very little. You have Darkvision out to 60 feet.

Feared on Sight

On most worlds where Feeorin have settled, the species arrived with a reputation already attached, and it is not a kind one. People decide what you are before you open your mouth. You take a -2 penalty on Persuasion checks.

Lore

Feeorin are a tall, warm-blooded reptilian species scattered across the galaxy in steadily dwindling numbers, known for the thick tendrils trailing from the backs of their heads, for lifespans measured in centuries, and for a reputation as pirates and killers that arrives on a world well ahead of any individual Feeorin.

An adult stands around 2.2 meters and is built to match. Heavy tendrils hang from the back of the skull, superficially like a Nautolan's, with a second set of much finer ones on the face. Skin runs yellow through green to blue, with occasional individuals in jet black or stark white. One detail trips up anyone trying to describe the species tidily: some Feeorin have noses and some have no nasal openings at all, and both are ordinary. They are reported to live as long as four hundred standard years. (In Legends, a widely repeated claim holds that Feeorin grow physically stronger with age rather than weaker; that detail circulates on fan references rather than in a sourcebook or novel, so treat it as uncertain.)

Where they come from is a genuine blank. Odryn is routinely called the Feeorin homeworld and it is not one — it was their largest colony, and the original world was lost long before most galactic histories begin. No surviving record names it. For a species that remembers individuals for four centuries, losing the location of their own origin is a peculiar kind of wound, and Feeorin communities tend not to discuss it with outsiders. Odryn itself entered the record late, first appearing in the Knights of the Old Republic comic arc Exalted in 2008.

The population is going the wrong way. Various accounts put the surviving Feeorin at roughly a million across the entire galaxy, which for a species with a four-century lifespan suggests something went badly wrong a long time ago and never corrected. What is left is dispersed rather than concentrated, settled in small numbers on worlds that mostly did not want them, and the hostility compounds: where Feeorin settle, they are frequently treated as dangerous on the strength of the species alone, which pushes them toward exactly the fringe work the reputation accuses them of.

The Feeorin the galaxy remembers are a short and violent list. Nym ran the Lok Revenants and fought the Trade Federation across the Karthakk system in the years before the Clone Wars, then governed Lok for decades afterward. Feln led the Feeorin during the Mandalorian Wars and sat among the Jedi Covenant. Rav was still working the pirate trade around 130 ABY. Three pirates and a Jedi is a sampling problem rather than a portrait — these are the Feeorin who got written about, not the ones who were typical — but it is the list that built the reputation.

As a player character, a Feeorin is built to absorb what the galaxy throws and keep standing. Strength and Constitution bonuses, Endurance proficiency, and the Unyielding Metabolism reroll make you the one still upright when the rest of the party is checking its injuries, and Darkvision means the dark is not an obstacle. The cost is twofold and deliberate: you are not quick, and you are not trusted. The Persuasion penalty is the species' reputation doing its work whether you have earned it or not, which makes a Feeorin diplomat a genuinely interesting thing to attempt.

Physical Description

Feeorin are large and heavily built, with adults typically reaching about 2.2 meters. The species is reptilian but warm-blooded, which puts them in an unusual physiological bracket and means they handle cold far better than most scaled species manage.

The most recognisable feature is the tendrils. Thick, heavy ones hang from the back of the head, close enough in appearance to a Nautolan's head-tresses that the two species are occasionally confused at a distance, with a second set of much smaller and thinner tendrils on the face itself. Skin colour spans yellow, green and blue across the bulk of the population, and a minority are jet black or white.

Facial structure varies more than in most species. Some Feeorin have a pronounced nose; others have no nasal openings in the face at all, and neither variant is considered remarkable among Feeorin themselves. The eyes gather light efficiently and function well in darkness that would leave a Human effectively blind.

Aging is slow. Feeorin are reported to reach four hundred standard years, and an elderly Feeorin does not present as frail in the way an aged Human does — the frame stays heavy and the musculature stays dense well into advanced age.

Culture & Personality

The hardest thing about writing a Feeorin honestly is that almost everything recorded about the species comes from its pirates. Nym, Rav and a handful of others are the Feeorin who ended up in the histories, and a species does not get to be a million people spread over a galaxy and also be uniformly criminal. The pirates are a sample, not a census.

What does appear consistently is endurance, in both senses. Feeorin are physically hard to stop, and the cultural temperament that goes with it is patient rather than explosive — a people who measure a grudge in decades because they will still be around in several. Communities tend to be tight, self-reliant, and slow to extend trust outward, which is unsurprising for a scattered minority that is routinely treated as a threat on arrival.

That treatment is the defining social fact of being Feeorin. On worlds where they settle, they are widely regarded as dangerous on the basis of the species alone, before any particular Feeorin has done anything. The practical consequence is that legitimate work is harder to get than fringe work, which feeds the reputation that caused the problem, which makes the next world harder again. A number of Feeorin have simply leaned into it.

For adventuring parties, a Feeorin is the one who does not break. They make natural heavies, bodyguards, mercenaries and ship's muscle, but the more interesting Feeorin characters tend to be the ones pushing against the assumption — the medic, the pilot, the negotiator who has to get past a -2 on every first impression and knows exactly why it is there.

Famous Feeorin Characters

Nympirate chief of the Lok Revenants

The best-known Feeorin in the galaxy, and the reason most people can picture the species at all. He led the Lok Revenants against the Trade Federation throughout the Karthakk system in the years before the Clone Wars, and took control of the planet Lok afterward, holding it for decades. Created as the player character of the LucasArts flight game Star Wars: Starfighter, where the development team settled on making him a Feeorin during concept art; he was later carried into current canon.

FelnJedi Master of the Covenant

Led the Feeorin during the Mandalorian Wars and served as a member of the Jedi Covenant, the secretive circle that worked to prevent the return of the Sith. He is the standing counter-example to the assumption that Feeorin are all pirates, and the only widely recorded Feeorin Jedi.

Ravpirate, Legacy era

Operated as a pirate around 130 ABY, well over a century after Nym's time, which says something about how durably the Feeorin reputation attached itself to that line of work. His presence in the record is a reminder that Feeorin lifespans and Feeorin notoriety both run long.
