A podracer, a pirate, and a species that will not be told it is small
The three species that joined the catalog this week have almost nothing in common, which is the fun of it. One is remembered across the galaxy for a single embarrassing failure. One is remembered for piracy, by people who have mostly never met one. The third is barely remembered at all, which suits it, because it is usually underneath something you were standing on.

Toong — nothing gets behind you
You have seen a Toong even if the name means nothing: Ben Quadinaros, the podracer at the Boonta Eve Classic whose four engines failed to couple at the drop and tore his racer apart before he had travelled a meter. It is a rough way for an entire species to become known.
The build is genuinely strange. A heavy round body, long thin legs, and no neck at all — the head sits flush on the shoulders, so a Toong who wants to look behind itself turns its whole torso. The eyes make up the difference. They sit high on the skull and far apart, with oversized pupils, and between them they take in nearly the full circle of the horizon.
That is the trait. Panoramic Eyes means enemies never gain the +2 flanking bonus against you, no matter how they position themselves — the one species in the catalog that simply cannot be worked from two sides. Toongese Tongue grants an extra language, because a mouth built for Toongese finds Basic comparatively easy. And Neckless Frame is the bill for both: Disadvantage on Acrobatics, which together with a Strength penalty makes Toong poor tumblers and worse grapplers.
They came to Tund as refugees. Their original world, Toong'L, was struck by comets shortly before the Invasion of Naboo, and the survivors crossed to a neighbouring planet that happened to be an ancient Force nexus with a history of its own. Most Toong have no interest at all in the ruins they live among.

Feeorin — the ones who do not stop
Feeorin stand around 2.2 meters, run warm-blooded despite being reptilian, and wear heavy tendrils down the back of the skull. They live something close to four hundred years. The galaxy knows them through Nym, the pirate who fought the Trade Federation across the Karthakk system and then governed the planet Lok for decades afterward.
Here is the honest problem with that: nearly every Feeorin in the records is a pirate, and a species of a million people spread across a galaxy is not uniformly criminal. The exception proves it — Feln led the Feeorin during the Mandalorian Wars and sat among the Jedi Covenant. The pirates are a sample, not a census.
Mechanically they are built to absorb what the galaxy throws. Unyielding Metabolism lets you reroll a failed Strength or Constitution saving throw once per long rest. Nocturnal Eyes gives Darkvision out to 60 feet. And Feared on Sight is a flat −2 on Persuasion, because on most worlds where Feeorin settle, the species arrived with a reputation attached and people decide what you are before you speak.
One detail worth knowing if you like your lore precise: Odryn is routinely called the Feeorin homeworld and it is not one. It was their largest colony. The actual homeworld was lost before galactic history starts, and no surviving record names it.

Ranat — the Conquerors
The Ranat is a meter tall, lives in tunnels, and is widely considered vermin. Ranats disagree. In their own language they are the Con Queecon — "the Conquerors" — and they are entirely sincere about it.
Their history explains the attitude. They evolved on Rydar II alongside a humanoid population, the relationship went badly, and around 200 BBY the local governor ordered the species exterminated. Three Ranats escaped aboard a spice freighter. The voyage ended the way such things do when the stowaways are predators and the crew is not, and the ship came down on Aralia with nobody alive to land it. Those three founded everything that followed.
Duracrete Incisors is the trait people will remember. Ranat lower incisors grow about a centimetre every hour, so they gnaw constantly, and the teeth go through duracrete. Your bite is a 1d4 piercing natural weapon, and given uninterrupted time you chew through duracrete, cabling and restraints — a Ranat stripped of equipment in a cell starts chewing. Durasteel defeats you. Burrower's Claws adds 1d4 slashing and digs through soft ground. Tunnel Sight is Darkvision 60, from generations in lightless warrens.
When Imperial-era developers broke ground on a vast amusement park on Aralia, the Ranats tunnelled out the ground beneath its support pylons and brought the attractions down. That is a fair summary of the Ranat approach to most obstacles.

Build one
All three are in the Character Builder now, each with its own name generator — Toong names roll, Feeorin names stop hard after one syllable, and Ranat names scrape. Their homeworlds are pinned on the galaxy map too: Tund, Odryn, and Rydar II, where the Ranat were very nearly finished.
