Nothing to sweep out from under you
A lot of combat in SWURPG comes down to footing. Knock someone Prone with a contested Push and their next attack is made from the floor. Fill a corridor with rubble and movement costs double. The Thisspiasian answer to both is simply not having legs.
Below the waist, a Thisspiasian is a single thick, muscular, prehensile coil, usually about two metres long, strong enough to haul heavy objects and built for crossing broken rock. Above the waist there are two pairs of arms, the lower pair generally tucked inside the robes until a job needs four hands. They're playable now, in the catalog and the Character Builder.

Two hours of sleep and a lot of trance
The beard isn't vanity. It evolved as a defence against the swarms of biting cygnats native to Thisspias, which means a thin beard back home is a practical liability before it's a social one. They're omnivores with an unapologetic preference for live meals, and the jaw unhinges at the joint so the meal goes down whole — a traditional Thisspiasian feast sets cages of live animals in the middle of the table with seasoned dipping sauces arranged around them. Dinner is an invitation most offworlders decline twice.
The habit that actually defines the species is rest. A Thisspiasian sleeps roughly two hours a day. The real recovery comes from a trance state, anywhere from minutes to hours, that performs the neurological repair sleep handles in everyone else. In Legends the requirement is steeper — five or six hours of trance meditation daily — and a Thisspiasian who skips it becomes prone to bursts of exaggerated emotion. A culture that has practised that discipline for thousands of years regards someone who's let it lapse as a danger to the people standing near them. For a player, that's a ready-made pressure valve: a long chase, a siege, a crisis that runs through the night, and the most controlled person in the party starts slipping.
Thisspias itself is rocky, mountainous and ancient-urban, governed by an absolute hereditary monarchy thousands of years old under a ruler styled the Blood Monarch — with a democratically elected parliament sitting alongside it that does most of the actual legislating. The Monarch reigns; the chamber governs.
The build
| Ability modifiers | STR +1, CON +1, DEX −1 |
| Size / speed | Medium, 30 ft |
| Skill | Knowledge: Tactics |
| Four-Armed Dexterity | Wield two two-handed weapons at once with STR 14+; one extra free object interaction per turn |
| Serpentine Coils | Cannot be knocked Prone. Ignore difficult terrain from rubble, undergrowth or loose ground. Disadvantage on Athletics checks made to climb |
| Coiled Strike | If you don't move on your turn, your first melee attack that turn deals an extra 1d4 damage |
Serpentine Coils does two jobs that matter more than they read. Prone immunity shuts down a whole category of control — the contested Push that puts you on the floor simply doesn't land — and ignoring rubble and undergrowth means the terrain the GM dropped to slow the party down doesn't slow you. The climb disadvantage is the honest price: a ladder, a maintenance shaft or a sheer wall is a genuine problem for a body with no legs, and a well-built encounter will eventually put one in front of you.
Coiled Strike is what makes standing still a real choice rather than a default. Every ambush predator built like that sets itself before it strikes, so the species gets paid for doing the same. Hold your square, take the +1d4 on your first melee swing, and let Serpentine Coils make sure nothing can reposition you out of it. With STR +1 and CON +1 on a four-armed chassis, this is a front-liner that is extremely hard to move and quietly good at punishing anyone who comes to it.
The throne he walked away from
Oppo Rancisis abdicated the throne of Thisspias to follow the Jedi path, and then spent the rest of his life being the most dangerous person in a very dangerous room. He held a seat on the Jedi High Council through the invasion of Naboo and into the Clone Wars, served as the Order's foremost military advisor and the Council's representative to Republic High Command, and was considered one of the wisest voices in the chamber — mostly because he was an exceptional strategist who preferred to orchestrate a battle from a command centre rather than draw the simple green-bladed lightsaber he built as a Padawan.
The abdication wasn't a one-time decision either. In Legends, when his sister — by then the reigning Blood Monarch — was killed by terrorists who stormed the royal alcazar in 186 BBY, the throne was offered to him again. He declined again.
He wasn't the first Thisspiasian on a Jedi Council. Nikil Nobil sat on the Council reestablished on Tython during the Cold War with the Sith Empire, some thirty-six centuries earlier. And the species isn't short of less reputable options: the bounty hunter Ooris Bynar was notorious for the collateral damage he left behind and for firing EE-4 carbines from all four arms at once, until the bounty he was hunting cut off one of his hands and choked him with his own tail.
Build your own
The Thisspiasian are live in the Character Builder — four arms, a coil nothing can knock over, and a trance you skip at your own risk. Read the full species profile for the lore and the stat breakdown, or browse the rest of the species catalog. They complete the named Jedi High Council roster in SWURPG, alongside the Quermian, Lannik, Tholothian and Ongree — with Yoda's species, which canon has never named, as the permanent exception.
