At a glance it is simply the dark robe of a Sith adept — layered black cloth over tunic and sash, austere and unremarkable. Beneath the folds it hides light padding and discreet reinforcement, lending a measure of protection without the bulk of true armor. A Sith trusts the dark side and the blade to keep it alive and disdains anything that slows the flowing footwork a saber form demands, so the padded robe is the quiet compromise: it turns aside a glancing blow or cushions a fall while leaving the wearer free to move. It draws little notice on a backwater street and betrays nothing of the power beneath it, which suits a Sith who prefers to be underestimated until the blade ignites.
