About the Sith War-Sword
The Sith war sword predates the lightsaber's grip on the dark side — a heavy, double-edged blade the ancient Sith Lords carried out of the Hundred-Year Darkness, its staff-like form arguably the forebear of the double-bladed lightsabers later Sith would favor. Its secret is Sith alchemy: the metal is treated until a lightsaber cannot cut it, so the wielder can catch and turn a glowing blade the way only another lightsaber otherwise could — and, in skilled hands, bat aside blaster bolts in the same fashion. Some blades reached the same end woven through with cortosis, but the alchemical war swords were the prized ones, relics sealed in Korriban's tombs beside the Dark Lords who once swung them. Where a lightsaber is clean, a war sword is not: Sith warriors kept them for the specific, ugly pleasure of hard metal shearing through flesh, a cruelty the energy blade denies its wielder. To stand against one is to lose the duelist's usual certainty that nothing in the galaxy can meet a lightsaber and live.
Notes
Very Rare. An ancient double-edged blade forged through Sith alchemy, impervious to lightsabers: it can never be cut, damaged, or destroyed by a lightsaber, and its wielder may use it to Block a melee lightsaber attack (as the Block reaction) even without Force training. A wielder trained in its use may also Deflect blaster bolts as though wielding a lightsaber. Its alchemical edge ignores resistance and immunity to Kinetic damage.
