Everything you need to play SWURPG lives on this site, but a good campaign borrows from the whole hobby. These are the third-party tools and communities we actually point people to — vetted, free where it counts, and useful at the table. We keep the list short and honest, not a link dump.
Virtual tabletops & maps
- Owlbear Rodeo — A fast, free, no-account virtual tabletop. Drop in one of the maps from our Map Builder and you're running grid combat online in minutes.
- Foundry VTT — The deep, self-hosted VTT for groups that want automation, dynamic lighting, and a module for everything.
Other Star Wars RPG tools & systems
- SWSheets — A polished, open-source character and vehicle builder for Fantasy Flight's Star Wars RPG (Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, Force and Destiny). Different system, same love of free tools.
- Star Wars 5e — A free, community-built conversion of D&D 5E to a galaxy far, far away. If your table lives in 5E, it's the gold standard.
- Edge of the Empire SRD — A clean, searchable reference for FFG's narrative-dice system.
Communities
- The Rancor Pit — The long-running home of Star Wars d6 (West End Games) fans: forums, fan sourcebooks, and decades of homebrew.
- SWURPG on Discord — Our own server — rules questions, build help, playtest feedback, and the occasional campaign log.
Play it with LEGO
- Epic Brick Adventures — A brick-building TTRPG with a kindred spirit to our own LEGO-scale play guide. If you love minifigs at the table, you'll feel right at home.
Run something we should add here? Tell us — recommendations from people who actually use the tools are the only way this list earns its keep.
