Effect

As an Action, you reach into the mind of one creature you can see within 30 feet and smother a single thread of its will. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or, until the end of its next turn, it cannot take Reactions, cannot concentrate on or activate Force powers, and has Disadvantage on the next attack roll or ability check it makes as its focus scatters. This is a smothering of thought, not domination — you cannot command the target or read its mind, only blank it for a crucial moment.

At the Table

As the Jedi raises a hand to Force-push him off the ledge, the Sith spends 3 FP and speaks a single harsh word. The Jedi fails his Wisdom save — his concentration scatters, the push dies in his fingers, and he can't take a Reaction as the Sith steps in. For one turn, the Jedi's own thoughts betray him.

In the Lore

*Qâzoi Kyantuska*, "Suppress Thought," is a Sith mind-art recorded in the Book of Sith. Subtler than the outright domination of a mind trick, it blanks a single intention at the instant it matters — a spell half-cast, a warning half-shouted, a reaction never taken. Sith prized it in duels and negotiations alike: the enemy who cannot finish a thought cannot finish a plan.
