About the Geonosian Sonic Blaster
The Geonosian sonic blaster is the personal arm of the hive warriors, a meter-long rifle assembled by the Gordarl Weaponsmiths from an oscillation chamber, a reduction chamber, and a plasma-containment charge that together throw a visible ring of concussive sound. Where a blaster bolt burns, the sonic ring crushes — pulping flesh and shattering brittle plate while sliding past the reflective armor that turns energy weapons. A shooter can dial the output to stun a target for capture or to kill outright, which suited a species that fought as much to take prisoners for the arena as to win a battle. Its makers built it for their own hands: the trigger sits at an angle that Geonosian fingers reach naturally and everyone else fumbles, so the weapon is awkward and unreliable for offworlders even when they manage to fire it. In the echoing tunnels of a Geonosian spire, where sound reflects and compounds, it is a genuinely terrifying thing to face.
Notes
Species-locked design — the trigger and grip are built for Geonosian hands, so non-Geonosians treat it as an exotic weapon. Switchable output stuns or kills. Because the blast is a concussive pressure wave rather than an energy bolt, it cannot be deflected or redirected by a lightsaber.
