Lore

The Barloz-class medium freighter is one of Corellian Engineering Corporation's old reliables — a large, wedge-shaped workhorse that hauled cargo across the galaxy for generations. Lightly armed with a single laser cannon and built for trade rather than trouble, it was popular with independent merchants and planetary-defense forces who valued a roomy, dependable hull over speed or firepower.

By the time of the New Republic, CEC's own designers had come to see the Barloz as 'tired,' and the company developed the YT-1000 to replace it. But a tired reputation never grounded a good freighter — Barlozes kept flying trade routes and defense patrols long after the design was declared past its prime, turning up everywhere from the Battle of Jakku to the spacelanes of the Outer Rim.

For players the Barloz is the honest hauler: cheap, sturdy, and generous with cargo space, if slow and barely armed off the lot. It's the perfect canvas for a merchant crew or a planetary militia — a humble ship with plenty of room to grow.

Special Conditions

Independent Merchant's Workhorse

Roomy, dependable, and cheap to run — the Barloz was built for honest trade and planetary-defense patrols, not for fighting. CEC may call the old wedge 'tired,' but its open hardpoint and generous hold leave plenty of room to make it your own.
