Traits

Chitinous Carapace

The Geonosian's hard chitin exoskeleton grants a +2 bonus to AC (already included above) and, like all Geonosians, advantage on saving throws against radiation and irradiated environments — it never suffers radiation sickness.

Winged Flight

The elite has a flying speed of 30 feet. If it moves at least 15 feet toward a target using that flying speed before a melee attack, the attack deals an extra 3 (1d6) damage on a hit.

Piercing Oscillation

The elite's beam-tuned blaster is built to cut through personal energy shields and heavy plating. Its sonic attacks ignore any bonus to AC from armor and shields, and ignore half cover.

Improved Initiative

The elite rolls Initiative with Advantage (the ASI-alternative Improved Initiative), reflecting the reflexes that got it hand-picked for the soldier caste's top tier.

Weapon Specialization

The elite has the Weapon Specialization ASI-alternative with its sonic blaster: +1 to attack and damage rolls (already included in the Sonic Blast action).

Lore

Elite warriors are the genetically superior tier of the Geonosian soldier caste — bigger, tougher, and hand-picked for the hive's most dangerous work. Where a common warrior carries a standard sonic blaster, the elite is issued a beam-tuned weapon capable of cutting through the personal energy shields and Katarn-class armor plating that shrug off ordinary fire. They form the hard core of an arena defense or a foundry garrison, the unit sent when a swarm of warriors has already failed.

In Legends they were the shock troops of Archduke Poggle the Lesser's personal forces, and the model for later attempts to rebuild the Geonosian war machine after the Empire's purge.

In Play

The Elite is a focus-fire threat that punishes the party's defensive assumptions: Piercing Oscillation means their armor, cover, and deflector screens simply don't apply. Use it as the anchor of a warrior wing — it holds the line and deals reliable multiattack damage while the lighter warriors harass. Its Medpac lets it self-heal once if the fight drags; drop it before it can, and remember it acts early thanks to Improved Initiative.

Adventure Hooks

  1. The shield doesn't helpThe party has planned around a deflector screen or heavy armor — and the elite's beam blows straight through it. Mid-fight, they have to improvise a new plan or fall back.
  2. Foundry wardenAn elite commands the garrison guarding a reactivated droid foundry. Getting to the control room means going through it, or luring it away from its wing where its coordination bonuses lapse.
