Lore
The GX1 short hauler — also called the Lantillian short hauler — is a Lantillian ShipWrights shuttle built for long diplomatic tours and constituency runs. The Galactic Republic operated a fleet of top-of-the-line GX1s as diplomatic vessels during the Clone Wars; the red-hulled Phoenix carried Republic envoys to neutral Mandalore, and the Valorous famously took Senator Padmé Amidala to Scipio to secure a loan from the Banking Clan.
Two configurations exist. The diplomatic variant mounts a turret-mounted double laser cannon and a pilotable secondary pod — a detachable lifeboat with its own compact hyperdrive that lets delegates escape a bad situation. The civilian variant, stripped of weapons and flown by an RX-series pilot droid, served as an interplanetary 'starbus' throughout the Age of the Empire, ferrying commuters across the Outer Rim.
The GX1 stayed in service for decades — an armed one ferried Leia Organa to Naboo on behalf of the fledgling New Republic, and at least one answered Lando Calrissian's call to the Citizens' Fleet at the Battle of Exegol. For players it's a roomy, long-legged shuttle: ten passengers, a month of consumables, and an escape pod built in for when diplomacy fails.

Special Conditions
Detachable Escape Pod
A pilotable secondary pod detaches from the primary hull and carries its own compact hyperdrive — letting delegates (or players) slip away from the most uncomfortable situations under their own power.
Diplomatic Configuration
The diplomatic variant carries a long-range communications array and the turret-mounted double laser cannons above. An unarmed civilian 'starbus' variant also exists — strip the weapons in the Builder to fly it.
How to use this chassis
These are the stock stats. Use the Starship Builder to name your ship, install upgrades (shields, armor, engines, hyperdrive, weapons, sensors), apply traits (Jury-Rigged, Hot-Shot, Salvaged, etc.), and export a printable sheet. For combat resolution, see the Starship Combat rules page.
